Here at UWA Publishing we are really excited for this year's upcoming Love to Read Local week. On the week of 3-12 June we will be celebrating our local WA authors and their array of published works.
Love to Read Local week is a state-wide celebration, run by Writing WA, celebrating all things local and literary. Through an exciting program of bespoke events and activities, their mission is to connect Western Australian readers with Western Australian books. As a publisher of Western Australian literature we will be showcasing published works by our talented local authors.
A wonderful way to engage with local WA books is to check out Writing WA's Love to Read Local Literary Map. Readers are encouraged to journey and be inspired by the many wonderful stories and books that have been written about Western Australia. Readers can create their own trails by exploring the locations and settings of their favourite books and use the map to connect those books to information about travel, accommodation and other resources you’ll need to plan your journey. Visit the Literary map of WA.
If you've recently read a book published by us or have one that you've been wanting to read why not explore the place of the author's inspiration? A number of UWA Publishing books are hosted on the Literary Map of WA ready for readers to explore.
