Stuart Cooke

Stuart Cooke grew up in Sydney and Hobart. He has travelled widely, and lived in various parts of Latin America, as well as the Philippines, the United Kingdom and the United States. He now lives on the Gold Coast, where he lectures in creative writing and literary studies at Griffith University. Widely published as a poet, critic and translator, Stuart is the recipient of the Gwen Harwood and Dorothy Porter Poetry Prizes, grants from the Australia Council for the Arts and Asialink, and residential fellowships from Omi International Arts Centre (USA) and Hawthornden Castle (UK), among others. Lyre is his third collection of poems.
