Marieke van der Pol

Marieke van der Pol was born in Amsterdam in 1953. After working as an actress, she began writing screenplays.

Marieke wrote the film adaptation of the novel De Tweeling(The Twin Girls), which was Oscar nominated for Best Foreign Language Film in 2004. She then wrote the original screenplay for the acclaimed Dutch film, Bride Flight, which she then adapted into her first novel, Bruidsvlucht – Bride Flight.

Marieke resides in Amsterdam, and has one daughter.
