Gemma Weston

Gemma Weston is Curator of the Cruthers Collection of Women’s Art at the University of Western Australia and also maintains an independant writing and curatorial practice. She founded and co-directed Artist Run Intiatives Pet Projects (Bayswater, WA 2015 - 2017) and OK Gallery (Northbridge, WA 2011 - 2013) and was selected to participate in the Australia Council’s Emerging Curator program at the 2013 Venice Biennale. She has contributed to publications including Frieze, un Magazine, Artlink, and The West Australian Newspaper and has produced major exhibition catalogue texts, including ‘21st Century Animism’ for Magic Object, the 2016 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art and the creative non-fiction ‘Mobile Compositions: A Diary, April – July 2017’ for Caitlin Yardley: Mobile Composition, an exhibiton and publication partnership with the Aalto Foundation’s Maison Louis Carré, Bazoches-sur-Guyanne France.
