Phillip Short

Philip Short is currently a plant taxonomist at the Northern Territory Herbarium.

He has spent over twenty years working in herbaria, initially having been employed at the National Herbarium of Victoria.

In 1991-92 Philip was the Australian Botanical Liaison Officer at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

He has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from the University of Adelaide and a Doctor of Philosophy from Flinders University of South Australia.

Philip has published over forty scientific papers on the taxonomy and cytology of Australian plants as well as articles on the history of plantsystematics.

He contributed to, and edited, the multi-authored volumeHistory of Systematic Botany in Australasia and is a co-author ofFloodplain Flora: a flora of the coastal floodplains of the Northern Territory, Australia.
