Amanda Curtin is the author of novels Elemental and The Sinkings, and a short story collection, Inherited (all UWA Publishing). Elemental was shortlisted for the 2014 WA Premier’s Book Awards (Fiction and People’s Choice categories) and was published in the UK in 2016 (Scribe UK).
Her award-winning short fiction has been published in Griffith Review, Southerly, Island, Indigo, Westerly and Review of Australian Fiction.
She has been awarded writing residencies/fellowships at Ledig House, in the United States; the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Ireland; Hawthornden Castle, Scotland; and the Tasmanian Writers Centre.
Amanda has also worked in publishing for more than 25 years as a freelance book editor and is accredited (AE) by the Institute of Professional Editors.
She was fiction editor of the literary journal Westerly from 2014 to mid 2016, and is now an editorial consultant for the journal. She has a PhD in Writing.
