Kim Akerman

Kim Akerman has had a long and deep interest in the life-ways of Indigenous Australians. He has worked as an anthropologist with Governement agencies and Land Councils and has been employed as a curator in Federal, State and Territory Museums. Kim has also sat on the Research Advisory Committee of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies.

Currently Kim is Adjunct Professor (Archaeology) at the University of Western Australia and a member of their Advisory Committee of The Centre for Rock Art Research and Management. He is an Honorary Research Associate at the Western Australian Museum and also sits on the Research Advisory Committee of the Kimberley Foundation of Australia.

Kim has written extensively on Aboriginal material culture with a focus on technology, and art, both contemporary and prehistoric.
