Josephine Clarke

Having grown up in the South West of WA, the daughter of Italian migrants, Josephine Clarke studied literature at UWA and taught High School English before travelling to other cities and countries with her family. She now lives in Fremantle and is a member of the Voicebox Collective and has been actively involved with Out of the Asylum Writers’ Group since 2005. She has had poetry and short stories published in Australian journals. In 2015 Josephine attended a Strictly Poetry Focus Week at Varuna, the National Writers’ House, with Deb Westbury. She was a featured poet of the 2016 Perth Poetry Festival, and in 2019-20 was a participant in the WAPI Emerging Poets programme.
