Award-winning author Peter Thompson was born in Melbourne and raised in Queensland. He was trained as a journalist on The Courier Mail, The Sunday Mail and the Sun News-Pictorial, and following a successful career with the Mirror Group in London became a full-time author in 1991. His books cover many Australian subjects and include The Battle of Brisbane,Pacific Fury, Anzac Fury, Morrison of China andThe Big Fella: The rise and rise of BHP Billiton.
