Ronald Ferguson was born and educated in Western Australia.
He studied architecture at Perth Technical College and has practiced in Perth since 1961.
He is a Life Fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and the recipient of several architectural awards.
Ferguson is uniquely qualified to write about the development of The University of Western Australia campus, having acted as Consultant Architect to the University since 1985, providing planning advice for the Crawley, Shenton Park and Nedlands campuses.
The firm R. J. Ferguson & Associates was recognised in 1986 for its participation in the development of the Crawley campus when the campus received the Western Australian Civic Design Award for excellence.
