• Martin Whitely

Martin Whitely MLA is a former teacher who became concerned about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in the mid 1990s. He was alarmed at the number of boys in his class who were medicated with amphetamines for ADHD and were unnaturally quiet and compliant.

Even before he was elected to the Western Australian State Parliament in 2001, Martin was campaigning to curtail ADHD child prescribing and to ensure children with learning and behavioural difficulties had their needs met.
