Shani Mootoo


Shani Mootoo was born in Ireland, grew up in Trinidad and now lives in Canada.

Her novel Cereus Blooms at Night has been published in 15 countries, won the New England Book Sellers Award in 1998, was short listed in 1997 for the Giller Prize and long listed for the Man Booker Prize.

Shani currently teaches the Creative Writing Program in the School of Continuing Education at the University of Toronto.
